Formatting

NetWare 386's "INST ALL.NLM" program lets

you

optionally format a disk drive. When

using SCSI, it allows you to low-level format several SCSI drives simultaneously.

When you select a drive

format, INSTALL prompts you for an interleave from one to

nine. What it doesn't say is that you can also enter an interleave value

zero. This

option was previously unavailable

NetWare 386 v3.0. When formatting SCSI disk

drives or removable drives on the AHA-1540/1542, AHA-1640, or AHA-1740/1744, we

recommend that you use an interleave value

zero. This value instructs the drive to use

its optimal interleave value.
