Installing Your Adaptec Media Reader

To install your Adaptec Media Reader:

1 Turn off power to the computer and disconnect the power cord.

2 Open the computer cabinet, following the manufacturer’s

instructions.

Caution: Discharge any static electricity build-up by

touching a grounded metal object (such as the exposed

metal parts on the back of your computer).

3 Prepare the drive bay for the installation of a new drive,

following your computer manufacturer’s instructions.

4 Hold the Adaptec Media Reader by its sides, top side up, and

insert it into the drive bay, aligning the screw holes on the side

of the Media Reader with the mounting holes of the drive bay.

5 Secure the Adaptec Media Reader in the drive bay, using the

screws provided.

Caution: Secure both sides of the Adaptec Media Reader,

using all four screws. Securing only one side may cause

the device to warp and fail.
