Installation and Operation Overview

Follow these steps, in this order, to install and use the SlimSCSI

adapter:

1 Install Card and Socket Services software if your system did

not come with this software already installed. (This software

enables PCMCIA slot plug and play features.) Adaptec has

supplied CardSoft Card and Socket Services software with

your SlimSCSI adapter; see Appendix A, Card and Socket Ser-

vices Installation, for complete installation instructions.

2 Install the SlimSCSI adapter into your PCMCIA-compatible

computer. See Chapter 2, SlimSCSI Hardware Installation, for

details.

3 Install SCSIworks! software and operate the SlimSCSI adapter.

See Chapter 3, SlimSCSI Adapter Operation, for details; this

chapter also includes common error messages and their

remedies.
