Installing Your Controller

Configuring ATA Drives

When configuring drives for the Adaptec 2400A, you need to:

■ Select and configure compatible drives as master.

■ Attach supplied ATA cables.

ATA Drives

Your Adaptec 2400A controller supports ATA/66 and ATA/100

hard drives only. Use ATA/100 cables only.

For best results, RAID drives should be as similar as possible in

terms of capacity and performance. All drives must be set to the

master setting (factory default). If previously used, format the drive

in accordance to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Avoid

mixing ATA/66 drives with ATA/100 drives in an array.
